 Lan prep
Been ages since I've lan'd it up (Iseries 13 I think!)
I've: Prepped up the steam multiplayer games I have. Done steam offline thingy DoW 2 offline account
Still got to: install + patch generals + make it work on win7
So aside from remember powercables what else?
Any other RTS's worth bringing? I'll have Sup Com 2 installed...

 Re: Lan prep
Here it is: (reminder for me)
Using Offline Mode on a PC.
Please follow the instructions below to configure Offline Mode on your PC:
1. Start Steam online - make sure the Remember my password box on the login window is checked 2. Verify that all game files are completely updated - you can see the update status for a game under the Library section (when the game shows as 100% - Ready it is ready to be played in Offline Mode) 3. Launch the game you would like to play offline to verify that there are no further updates to download - shut down the game and return to Steam once you have confirmed that the game can be played 4. Go to Steam > Settings to ensure the Don't save account credentials on this computer option is not selected 5. From the main Steam window, go to the Steam menu and select Go Offline 6. Click Restart in Offline Mode to restart Steam in Offline Mode

 Re: Lan prep
That would be great .. i also own World at war so will down load those patches also .. should i be bringing any other games ? i will see if i can get a cheap version of generals now but i do own Red alert 2 and C&C 3 .. the only UT's i own are 03 and 04 so i wont bother bringing them . i have downloaded the server files for Battle field 2 and battle field 2142 ( just cannot find my license key for BF2 grrrrrrrrr ) , either way i am sure TF / CS / CoD will keep us all busy FYI the versions you will need are: ( please correct me if i am using an older version however i have files for all of these if any one needs on the day ) DOW / Winter assault = 1.51 Soulstorm = 1.1.120 ( someone wanna verify that ? i couldnt see a patch for it ) Dark Crusade = 1.20 Call of Duty 4 : Modern warfare = 1.7 Battlefield 2 = 1.41 BF2/ BF2:SF = 1.20 Battlefield 2142 = 1.50 ( i have this file but unless if its a full install from retail and couldnt find any previous versions on xfire .. will look more tonight ) C&C 3 Tiberium Wars =1.09

 Re: Lan prep
Generals is 1.08
Generals Zero hour is 1.04
I'll download all patches as it could be 'fun' figuring out if they are incremental or total... (oh EA what a wonderful world you live in..)

 Re: Lan prep
Generals working fine after that fix I posted Quote: * Make sure you have the latest DirectX 9.0c installed, you can Google it or get it from Microsoft * into your "user" directory (named with your user account yeah you know there where you see the folder my pictures, my music etc) * in there go to "My Documents" * well there after trying to run the game you would see a Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data folder. * open it. * right click and creat new empty .TXT file and rename it options.ini * copy those lines inside and Save it! **warning in the resolution section put your resolution********* Code: AntiAliasing = 2 BuildingOcclusion = yes CampaignDifficulty = 0 DrawScrollAnchor = yes DynamicLOD = no ExtraAnimations = yes GameSpyIPAddress = 0.0.0.0 Gamma = 50 HeatEffects = yes IPAddress = 0.0.0.0 IdealStaticGameLOD = Low LanguageFilter = false MaxParticleCount = 5000 MoveScrollAnchor = MusicVolume = 50 Resolution = 1440 900 Retaliation = yes SFX3DVolume = 72 SFXVolume = 64 ScrollFactor = 145 SendDelay = no ShowSof****erEdge = yes ShowTrees = yes StaticGameLOD = Custom TextureReduction = 0 UseAlternateMouse = yes UseCloudMap = yes UseDoubleClickAttackMove = no UseLightMap = yes UseShadowDecals = yes UseShadowVolumes = yes VoiceVolume = 78 * then Right Click on your Generals / Zero hour Sortcut (if you dont have make one), in widows 7 most games make there sortcuts into the "GAMES" menu in Start Menu huh.gif * and in the Compatibility Tab just select Windows XP sp3 and click "Run as administrator" option too (if you are not an admin) * thats it go inside change your settings and restart the game.

 Re: Lan prep
Just found this for BF2 in Win7 (game crashes after 1.5 patch):
1.) Install the game as usual w/or w/o sf 2.) Apply 1.41 patch 3.) Apply 1.5 patch 4.) Re-apply 1.41 5.) Right click on the icon & under advanced, select compatibility for xp & run as admin, hit apply/ok 6.) PLAY HARD!!
